| I am directed by Genl. Lee to acknowledge
the receipt of your letter of the 26th inst:, advising that Walkers
brigade had been forwarded to Petersburg &c &c. As regards the
additional rolling stock required, the General suggests that you make
the necessary arrangements for procuring it from the roads in No. Ca.,
that from the Seaboard & R. R. R. (not now running) might be made
available. The roads in Virginia need all their stock for the demands
for transportation made upon them. ***** |
