Dear Sir,

Yours of the 25th March instructing me
to ship 1000 Bales Cotton to J. T. Trezevant Charleston S. C. at
hand. We find that we can not get transportation {this
would require about 40 cars -- 3 trains} & are informed
by the Quartermaster here that it must be done through the Q. M.
General at Richmond. You will please send us the necessary authority
at your earliest convenience. Serious indisposition has prevented an
earlier reply. |
