Capt & AQM the undersigned. Jas A Drane private in Co. "C" 3d Regt
Miss Infty, detailed for extra duty, and Jas. B. Santell a citizen
both in the employ of Maj G P Theobald A. Q. M. who being duly sworn
according to form of Law depose and say: That at the time of the
late raid they wee cognizant of the fact that said Maj Theobald was
in possession of a quantity of corn believed by each of them to be
fully equal to 15,000 Bushels {100 car loads
on the Mobile & Ohio RR} and that the same unavoidably fell
into the hands of the enemy as there was no means of transportation
to be obtained for it. |
