My dear Sir, |
I found one broad wheel truck here, and
the wheels of another, which I will have put in order, at once, for
your use. |
The road with the wooden rail, is
constructed correctly, according to the directions of the Engineer,
and meets the guage everywhere, but the difficulty lies, in the
woefully stupid manner, in which Mr. D C Lettre chooses to use it. I
consider my personal services, at the disposal of my country, without
remuneration, as long as this war lasts, if therefore, I can render
you any assistance, I beg you to call upon me without hesitation, and
be assured I shall be glad of the opportunity to facilitate you in the
discharge of your public duties. |
My hands are all engaged on the M&B RR
{Macon & Brunswick RR} and I do not
feel myself at liberty to withdraw them for any private purposes, but
if you cannot otherwise get your lumber moved, I will have it done for
you at once. |
Respectfully |
Your obt servt |
