Sir,
|
You will proceed without delay to Columbus Ga. and thence
to the works of the Chuvalla Lime Co. at Yoryesboro, Russell Co. Ala.
and make arrangements with the Q. M. at either place for the prompt
transpn of the Lime ordered of the above Co. for the service of this
Army. You will remain until the balance of the eight car loads of lime
now under orders have been shipped, after which you will follow and
see all the lime through to this city, where you will report to me in
person. A large force of brickmasons being dependent upon the prompt
supply of lime. Q. M.'s are respectfully requested hereby to assist
you to the fullest extent possible. You will make every exertion to
get the lime through at once, if possible.
