Dear Sir, |
Being much in need of an engineer upon the
Atlanta & Roswell Rail Road, we applied and secured Lieut Charles Pratt
of the Camp of Instruction, Macon Geo. He tendered his resignation to
enter upon his duties as Engineer. It was approved by Col. Jas. B. W??es
but when sent on was returned disapproved by the Sect War. Pratt has
been several weeks on the work and is now in the very midst of locating
the line. He has returned to Camp and the Road actually suffering for
want of his services. He encloses another resignation with Col W??s
approval, and I must beg for the public welfare, that you will present
his resignation and get the approval of Sect War. The citizens of
Atlanta have taken the requisite amt stock and we are just about
starting the grading. Your attention will further the public good, and
greatly oblige. |
Yours very Resp |
Jas. Roswell King |
