| Yours of yesterday's date is
this moment received and contents duly examined. The Depot at Haw River
was established for the purpose of collecting Forage and if necessary
(should the enemy capture Weldon and Gaston No Ca) to put on a line of
wagons from that point to N. C. Rail Road to the Richmond & Danville
Road. |
| We keep there only four teams
(16 mules) and three horses for the purpose of securing forage, where we
have now on hand some 130,000 pounds. |
