The foregoing articles of Q. M.
property were ordered by the Chf Q. M. of the Department to be
removed from Meridian Miss the day previous to the evacuation
of the place. They were transported by R. R. to Gainesville
Ala, thence to Selma Ala via Mobile & Montgomery. During
the transit they were stolen, some were destroyed through the
carelessness of R. R. & Steam boat employees and through
the impossibility of procuring storage room |
