Office Southern Express Company |
Augusta, Ga., Feb. 20th, 1864 |
|
To the Superintendents of Divisions, Agents, and
Messengers of the Southern Express Company: |
With this you will receive a copy of an
advertisement which has been inserted in the papers throughout the
Confederacy. You are requested to comply with its requirements to the
fullest possible extent, -- especially as regards giving this freight
preference over everything else, as the Company desires to do all in
its power to facilitate the delivery of supplies to the soldiers in the
armies of the Confederacy. |
This arrangement does not require any
deviation from the orders heretofore given, by which gods are to go
forward in the order of arrival, (except as above named,) and prepayment
must be required for this as for all other freights. |
