load coal (15,750 lbs) to you, per C. S. Canal Boat
"Malvern," on Saturday, the 7th & was just writing to
inform you of shipment when your letter came to hand |

You say the Coal was shipped by Mr. J. H.
Adams from Christiansburg "the 30th September." You no doubt
meant to say the 30th October. |
It is a great pleasure to me to be able to
dispatch business promptly, but our means of Transpn being at times
limited, I am sometimes prevented from so doing. |
