Roberts control the road iron & other govt
freight delayed for private speculation Gen Mercer has ordered rep?? to
no purpose the only remedy is in Genl Mercer being authorized by Secty
of War to take control of road he concurs in this & asks for orders from
Beauregard who thought Secty should issue the order the Nav dept must
have iron at once or discontinue its efforts obtain the order for Genl
Mercer to take control of the Sat. & Ga RR & all will be well.
