Sir, |
In accordance with my
instructions from the Commissary Genl, you will proceed to Vicksburg
and send through the Quarter Master, with an active energetic
messenger, to Charleston a Train loaded with Government Sugar, marked
in the name of Maj H. C. Guein, Charleston S. C. to whom you will
Invoice the property and take receipts in the usual manner. Take an
accurate account of all the Sugar and Molasses which has arrived at
Vicksburg the date and number of Hhds by each boat, as also the
disposition that has been made of the same, of the sugar left, distribute
equally among the Commissaries at Montgomery Atlanta Augusta
Chattanooga Knoxville and Columbus Georgia. |
Receipt to Maj W. H. Dameron
for all sugar and molasses which has arrived at VBurg and take
receipts from those Officers who have got it and are to get it, in
such form as will represent your own obligations. |
