That I Joseph Thorn do hereby agree to build for the
Confederate States at the depot at Albany Ga with as much dispatch as
possible, the following two buildings having Contracted with Capt R H
Hines A. Q. M., as agent of the Government: they are both to be the
same size and finish and for which I am to receive seventy eight
hundred and forty dollars -- the buildings to be well built and strong
-- suitable for storing grain -- with strong floor sleepers ??? --
covered with 1x12 plank roof securely put on -- well under pinned and
floor level with the car floor for loading -- plans six feet from
track S. W. R. R. {South Western RR} |
Plan of these each to be as follows 24
feet wide by 150 feet long: built of ??duped plank 1x12 inches: 12
feet pitch of story Roof double plank 1x12 inches (setuled) &
sharp floor 1 1/2 inches thick -- level with car floor for loading:
Sleepers 3x12 - 18 inches from center to center: Joints well supported
by girder running under center of building: 2 Rows of truss work
between them of 3x4 scantling |
3 doors each side -- the Middle Doors 6x7 feet the others
3 1/2x7 feet: all of them well supported by appropriate Butts & to
have proper fastenings the small office Railed off in a corner of each
with appropriate window & Shuttles

Gable Ends Latticed for proper ventilation
& Roof properly projecting: Platform 4x8 ft at each door for
receiving & Loading |
And I Captain R K Hines A Q M agree to pay
the price herein when built for the said ??? the sum of Seventy Eight
hundred and forty dollars |
