Dear Robert
|
|
I recd your letter Saturday morning -- had not time to
see Sanison but wrote to him. I have been so occupied today that I
could not see him. I will see him tomorrow. I dont know whether the
mill is done or not. It seems to me it would be best to send it to
Milford {40 miles from Richmond on the
Richmond, Fredericksburg & Potomac RR}. The freight train
on that road passes over the {Virginia} Central
road from Richmond to the Junction & then on their own
road to Hamilton's xing. The Passenger train for Richmond leaves
Milford about 2 o'clock. P. M.
|
In a fortnight or less the Southanna Bridge will be
finished and the whole of the Richd & Fredbg road {Richmond,
Fredericksburg & Potomac RR} will be open.
|
Tomorrow I will see Sanison and if Madison cannot be
gotten we will try to send some body else.
|
I am very anxious to hear from you all. I want to know
all about Mary & the gun boats.
|
Remember that all freights can pass to & from
Milford & Richmond, just as well as ever.
|
No time for more. That tin about which Florentina wrote
proved to be inferior.
|
Love to all
|
Yours affecly
|
Chas. F. M. Garnett
