| I received a letter from Capt
Richard Morton this day inquiring about a lot of pig iron which was
detained here several days in a broken car. You informed me there was
8 tons and directed 5 sent to Capt Morton care of A. G. Dobney
Richmond. The matter was attended to at once but on transferring to
the two roads it appears that there were 8 1/2 tons and disposed of
thus |

here with dated 23d inst. Your receipts from Capt Morton will therefor
be for 5 1/2 instead of 5 tons. |
