Dear Sir, |
In your new & now extended field of
operations could you not give me something to do? My business having
been entirely broken up, I shall soon be without means of support
for my family. If there is no berth, within your province you could
give me, it has occurred to me that I might, with your influence,
(if you would be kind enough to use it) obtain a place as Mail Agent
or a clerkship in some one of the Government Departments. If you
think it desirable or if I could accomplish any thing I will go on
them. I can, probably, get letters of recommendation. Satisfactory
as to character, capacity &c. |
Please let me hear from you as early as
practicable. |
The long intimacy, between our families,
induces me to address you thus earnestly. I hope you will excuse the
privilege I have taken & believe me. |
Yours Vey truly |
