| I am here, you are aware under orders
emanating from the Secretary of War, to call upon you for such
facilities as I may need in moving certain engines and cars across the
Bay at this place. By your prompt assistance, the work is progressing
rapidly. I have several mechanics employed to assist in doing this
work, & am under necessity of calling upon you for means to pay
the expenses of those men. |
