| I am here you are aware, under orders emanating
from the Secretary of War, to call upon you, for such facilities as I
may need in moving certain engines and cars across the Bay at this
place. By your prompt assistance the work is progressing rapidly. I
have several mechanics employed to assist in doing this work, & I
am under necessity of calling upon you for means to pay the expense of
those men. |
