The requirements of the
Commander of the local forces at Augusta Ga. that the employees of the
Georgia Railroad have weekly drills is working an injury to
transportation and I ask that they be excused from this military duty. |
If this road was only engaged
in its own repairs this entreaty would not be made, but the machinery of
two refugee roads, the Nashville & Chattanooga, and E. T. & Ga.
{East Tennessee & Georgia} RRds, is
repaired in the shops of this Co. and it is important that no time
should be lost, except in cases of extreme necessity. |
It is therefore respectfully
recommended that the employees of this Co. be excused from the weekly
drills. |
