February 27 For services of 4 men (machinists) stripping Engine No. 3 of Executive Rods connecting Rod &c &c preparatory to hauling same at 1 1/2 days each at $25.00 pr day $150.00 This was extraordinary work and done at an unpropitious time hence the apparent high prices of labor. The ware and lack of tools is also to be considered.
March 14 For services of 27 hands fixing trucks & brakes, jacking up engine & tender. Hauling same from Depot to Shop of Eagle Foundry 1 day each at $20.00 pr day 540.00

   I certify that the above account is correct and just, amounting to Six hundred & Ninety Dollars and that the services have been performed as stated and were necessary.
