I received your note of this morning asking the amount of
transportation required by the Department in my charge. My
transportation has been much smaller lately than it has been before this
year or probably will be again. I received in January last two hundred
and forty nine packages of material for clothing alone. This constitutes
usually about one half of the amount received. |
| From this data you can judge of the
necessities of the Government for transportation at this point. |
