You will please receive from Lt. Col.
Minor Meriwether the two engines "Giles" and "Pulaski"
and ??? said the disposition of them as the necessities of
transportation may require. Either by letting them remain when they
are or transferring them to more needy roads. |
You will contract such rental and conditions
for the use of them, naming other machinery, that may come into your hands, the
rates paid for any of like class in the section where it may
be used, being careful in allowing contracts that the hires assess
risk of loss or damage
by the public enemy. |
Should you discover engines or cars
without any representative in the Confederacy take possession, repair and put them to work. |
