Sir, |
When stores are received from any road
into the common storehouse at Florence for reshipment to any other
point, you will at once offer the same to the proper railroad agent
for shipment and ask him to receipt to you for the same. Should he
decline to do so notify him in writing that the govt will hold his
road responsible for the delivery of the stores in good order. |
It is the duty of a common carrier to
receipt all goods offered for shipment. Whether they have come ??dy or
not, is their look out. If they have not & the ??? ??? or burned
in the mean time they are responsible as common carriers and not as
mere ???. |
You will inform the several companies that
this will be expected of them. |
Very respy |
