It is a matter of importance to get the
engines from the west side of Pearl river and have them put in order.
If the orders are not within your ??? to ???, please undertake it
without doing so if you think it possible. It is quite possible that
you might get the repairs made at Mobile. There may be no immediate
need for this machinery but there will be used if should be ready. |
In regard to the differences between Col
Pritchard and yourself about ??? the matter must remain with you,
being on the ground you are best able to judge of the wisest of the
courses. Something should be done to impress on the road but that is
in the hands of the Engineer Bureau. In your report please mention the
condition and prospects of the Bigbee bridge at Demopolis. |
