Dear Sir, |
In the autumn of 1863. private
Wilson Smith of Company J 45th Georgia Regiment, (who had been seriously
wounded in several places) was detailed through you for duty in this
Companys shops he being a carpenter. Private Smith has been in the
service of this Company since that period and although not able to
perform full service on account of his wounds has been of very great
service to us, being willing and desirous to perform his duty, he now
fully understands the duty he has to perform & I regard his services as
being of great value to us, and request that you will have his detail
continued. You are aware that five sixths of our business is for
Government. |
Respectfully Yours |
