Know all men by these Presents. That we Eugene. Early
of the State of Missouri and the County of Lafayette as principal
and Isaac S. O'G Green & Solomon R Smith of the State of Mississippi
and County of Lauderdale as sureties, we hold and firmly bound unto
the Confederate States of America, in the full and just sum of
Twenty Thousand Dollars, to the payment whereof well and truly to be
made, we bind ourselves, jointly and severally, our joint and
several heirs, executors and administrators firmly by these
presents. |
Sealed with our Seals and dated at Marion Mississippi this the
thirteenth day of February one thousand eight hundred and sixty five. |
The condition of the foregoing obligation is such, that
whereas the said Eugene V. Early has been appointed to the office of
Transportation Agent. Now therefore if the said Eugene V. Early
shall truly and faithfully execute and discharge all the duties of
the said office according to law, and fully pay and account for all
moneys and public property, and supplies, which he may from time to
time receive, and render full and true accounts of the disposition
of all such moneys and public property and supplies in such manner,
and at such times as he may be required by the Secretary of the War
Department or by such other officers as may by law be empowered to
require the same, then the above obligation is to be void, and of
none effect, otherwise it shall remain in full force and virtue. |
