| I wrote to you some ten days ago asking to
be transferd to some other point and gave you my reasons for asking the
transfer. At that time I did not think the enemy was coming in this
direction, and as I am fully acquainted with all the business here, I am
satisfied that I can do more god here with the present state of things
than a new man could possibly do, and therefore ask to be allowed to
remain at this post. |
| I was sent to this post in June last and
since which time I have attended to all the business at Kingsville
without any expense to the government and therefore have no report of
any kind to make to your office. |
