| In compliance with your circular of 1st
October 1863, and with paragraph 1 of General orders No 118, issued
from the Adjt and Inspector Genl Sept 1st 1863, I have the honor to
report -- that I am stationed in Richmond and am assigned to the duty
of auditing the transportation accounts of Rail Roads, Steam boats,
Stage Lines, etc. When commissioned I was ordered by your predecessor
in office to report to Lt Col Larkin Smith A Q M Genl, and by him
assigned to duty. |
| I had supposed that the report required by
General orders No 118, had, in respect to me, been made by Colonel
Cone the Chief Qr Master in this city. |
