The special and extraordinary service that I was
ordered to perform by the Q M Genl viz that of hauling
Locomotives Cars & Machinery over 50 miles of turnpike
road entirely forbade my adherence to the regulation ration of
forage; the amount was inadequate for horses performing that
character of work, consequently I could not expend according
to form No 34. |

horses, over and above the number I am chargeable with. I
acted only under orders of the Q M Genl & reported to him.
