To Messrs Villere, Perkins, Kennedy, Conrad, Dupre and
Marshall |
Members of Congress from Louisiana |
|
Gentlemen, |
By direction of the Committee I am
instructed to ask your favorable consideration to the claim of Major J.
C. Berry, Transportation Agent in the Quartermaster's office in this
city, who desires to be permanently appointed to the same situation. |
Major Berry has rendered most valuable
service to this Committee in facilitating the transportation of our
people and their baggage from Pascagoula to this city. Always prompt,
accommodating and liberal, he has established a claim upon our gratitude
which we are glad to have this opportunity of recognizing. |
Besides his service to this Committee, his
discharge of the general duties of his office has been marked by energy,
justice and uniform courtesy. We take great pleasure in commending him
and his claims to your favorable consideration. |
By order of the Committee |
