Dear Judge, |
My neighbor & friend J. C. Berry, has been
Transportation Agent, at this Post, since the commencement of the war,
(as a branch I think of the Qur Masters Deprt) his gentleman & kind
deportment to all, who have business with him, and his prompt & speedy
manner of doing business, has given general satisfaction. I now learn he
wishes to be appointed Chief of Transportation for this Post. I
therefore beg leave to say that I think his appointment will give
general satisfaction, and also ask your important aid, as our immediate
Representative in securing, for him the position, he desires, & I think
deserves; your compliance with this request will oblige your old friend |
