| I respectfully ask that J Gains (a Detail
conscript in my employ at present serving with Co H. 5 Va Battalion L.
D.'s in the field) be returned. His services being necessary, there
being other lead work to be done independent of the Tender Frame. And
being in need of Carpenters to make Cow Catchers, ?ining &c &c
belonging to Engines &c now undergoing repairs for the N&M Bureau.
