| Mr J. C. Berry has held an important &
prominent position in the Transportation Dept of this city since 1861; &
I may say organized the Dept at this point: The business of his office
has been conducted with great promptness. So far as our connection with
him extends: and he has used every effort to harmonise the Govt & Rail
road interest: The appointment of Mr Berry to the permanent charge of
this officer will give general satisfaction and save the Govt the
embarrassment incident to a change: |
