| I write to recommend for
promotion Capt J L Sehon who entered the service of Tennessee as Majr
in that states service and was employed in my immediate office. When
the Confederate government action made him Captain a grade lower.
Since this time the Revd Dr Sehon his father who was so punished by
the F. Genl at Nashville has lost all of his property Capt Sehon has
lost his and has a family which he cannot support out of his pay and
therefore he asks for promotion as his pay will not support and he has
nothing else. |
| Capt Sehon is as deserving an
officer as there is in the army he is most capable willing attentive
and faithful. Therefore I take much pleasure in recommending his
promotion. |
