Dr Sir, |
We have now in N. Carolina
from three to four hundred bales of cotton purchased and paid for and
cannot get a bale moved by the RRoad Companies only when it suits
their convenience, we have repeatedly sent out an agent in fact at one
time two men -- and barely succeeded in keeping the mills running and
would have stopped several days in the past month had it not been that
we were obliged to pay an exorbitant price for enough to continue our
work until we can get some in on the RRoads. We hope you will ??? the
absolute necessity of transportation that the Government may be
regularly supplied with goods. |
& oblige yrs |
very respectfully
