Every exertion of this Company
to procure mechanics for the rebuilding the South Anna Bridge on this
Railroad having failed to procure more than a very few men not
employed in the Army, I respectfully ask, that, if the men, whose
names I have heretofore furnished to the Secretary of War for detail
from the Army for this work, cannot be detailed, at least those
heretofore detailed for similar work on the Va. Central Railroad and
employed there may with the consent of the Superintend of that Road,
be transferred to this work of equally great urgent importance to the
Government. |
Very respectfully your obt Servt. |
