I propose to contract for a large
quantity of lumber along the line of the
{Richmond &} Petersburg Railroad this side of Dreary's Bluff,
provided we can commence the requisite transportation regularly. On
other roads than yours we have found such difficulty in having the
lumber transported after it had been cut and delivered on the
Roadside, that our contract was militarily worthless. We might want
as much as 300 thousand feet per month, though 200 thousand feet
regularly would accommodate, perhaps, the supply we need. Could the
transportation be obtained? |
