Dear Sir, |
I succeeded yesterday in getting
off by Rail Road {Richmond & Danville RR}
(which you will receive today) 1073 Saddles & 5 Boxes. I
reported to Mr Haun yesterday which he advised me to do. Shall I
report to him when I make a shipment to you? I have heretofore
reported to you. |
There is considerable delay here in
getting off goods at this time owing to the pressing necessities for
cars. When goods arrive I have to get the agent here (who does what
he can) to telegraph for empty cars, and then it is a hard matter to
get the trains which are generally loaded at Danville to take the
loaded cars from here. There ought to be an understanding with the
Rail Road authorities at Richmond for me to have cars when I call
for them for ordnance goods. |
I have my Boat landing track in
operation which facilitates transportation considerably. ***** |
Very Respectfully |
Yours &c |
