Dear Sir, |
Mr. George Williamson goes on as the
Agent for the N&S RR {?} and other
parties here to bring out some iron via of South Boston, and thence
to Gaston via the River. As the Government has several Boats at
Clarksville, could you not send us a lot of bayonet iron by that
route? We have ??? ??? in that heavy corn we ??eive with but little
additional cost or trouble. if you could have the iron put on the
trains, going back empty, on the {Richmond &}
Danville Road and sent to South Boston and then order the
boats at Clarkesville to take it to Gaston, then you would have no
further trouble with it, as Mr George Williamson could as special
messenger bring it through with him. We are in great need of
the iron and hope that you will send it without fail. We want you to
come in person and inspect what bayonets we have ??leter, as soon as
the roads are in traveling condition again. |
Yours truly |
