| There are 5 Barrels of Linseed oil
coming on from Wytheville marked for W L Montague of this City care
of R H Staton, owner of a line of freight boats on the Canal. Mr
Montague is a large Contractor with this Department for the
manufacture of Tarpaulins, and the painting of Knapsacks, articles
which are in great demand for the Army. Will you please use your
efforts to have these forwarded, Mr Montague paying freight, not
however to interfere with the transportation of urgent government
supplies. |
