| Please communicate with Mr Farmer & try
to learn the reason why he has attempted to deceive us about the
impressment of his mill, if he has so attempted. The inclosed
papers will show that no attempt has been made to get possession of
his mill & he has never delivered any lumber to the D. R. Road
{Richmond & Danville RR}. |
| It is very strange that he should stop
sawing & make such statements. I am loathe to believe that Col.
Talcott's {Superintendent, Richmond & Danville
RR} suggestion is the basis of his statement. |
