| I received your letter in reference to the
delay in the Shipment of Freight at Petersburg, by reason of the
condition of the Government Tug, which is undergoing repairs. |
| If you can hire in Petersburg, for a short
time another Tug equal to the work, you can do so; or take any other
steps necessary to prevent the accumulation of Freight at that point. I
have referred your letter to Major Johns to ascertain how long it will
be before the Government Tug is ready for use again; and also whether
another cannot be, in the meantime, provided here. |
