| You are hereby charged with the duty of
auditing & settling the accounts of all R. Roads in the
Confederate States except those West of the Chattahoochee River. You
are also requested to notify all officers within the District
mentioned who have heretofore been engaged in auditing accounts of
this character, that their duties in connection therewith ceased on
the first day of August 1864. |
| You will report the names of such of the
officers referred to & their clerks as you may select to assist
you in the performance of your duties, & also the name of those
who by reason of their being relieved as above indicated can be spared
for service elsewhere & for assignment to other duties. |
