| The sum of $400,000 has been
requested in your favor to purchase cotton on account of this
Dept. to keep up a supply of material for the factories in this region
of country. A like remittance will be asked for each month. You will
please transfer the cotton to Maj. W. G. Ferguson Qr Mr at this point,
by shipping each months allowance, as purchased, to him one half
consigned to Richmond the other to Petersburg. It is important that this
cotton be received as promptly as possible. |
