Sir, |
I have considered the recommendation
contained in the communications of Maj. D. H. Wood and in your
endorsement thereon relating to the subject of Transportation and you
are hereby instructed to direct Capt. Thos. R. Sharp A. Q. M. to
assume the duties of Transportation Quarter Master at Columbia and to
order all other officers of this Department at that point to turn over
to him all books and papers pertaining to Transportation so far as may
be necessary and to inform them that in future they will be expected
and required to make requisition for transportation upon Captain Sharp
in all cases. |
You are also requested to notify the proper
officers of the different Rail Roads which meet at Columbia that no
Transportation Coupons hereafter issued at that point will be paid
except such as emanate from Captain Sharp who is especially charged
with this duty. |
Very respectfully |
