I have your letter of the 2d instant,
offering yourself for such duties as may be needed in the
transportation of troops and supplies. In reply you will please accept
my thanks for your offer, and I hereby appoint you an Agent of the Qr.
Mr. Department of the C. S. A. at Wilmington, N. C. and desire you to
enter upon the duties when you deem it necessary to do so. All
information that is useful to the Department I will thank you to
communicate to this office. |
