Sir, |
In order to facilitate the transportation
of troops, supplies, munitions of war etc. and to establish uniformity
in Rail Road accounts, I recommend the adoption of the forms enclosed {not
found}. |
The soldier's ticket to be stamped in the
usual manner, each coupon separately. Every freight bill must be
signed by the freight agent of each road separately. |
In the absence of transportation agents
and Quartermasters, to give order for transportation of Freight the
certificate of one Rail Road agent to another, on the connecting roads
will be paid by the Assistant Quarter Master nearest the Rail Road
Office; and in case of regiments, companies and detachments, the
certificate of the officer in command will be evidence sufficient for
payment. Each rail road will please prepare printed forms. |
