Sir, |
I have received from Mr. S. L. Fremont
Superintendent of the Wilmington & Weldon Rail Road a complaint
stating that the Quarter Master at Weldon has attempted to seize or
impress a number of cars belonging to that company to transport corn
from Halifax. This is not proper. I call your attention to the
inclosed regulation published by Genl Lee, on the matter -- the
provisions of which shall be strictly observed. When you need
transportation for any purpose companies shall be called on, &
when notified of your wants they will, no doubt, do all in their power
to give support. |
