Sir, |
Your letter has been received and upon calling on the
Hon Secretary of the Treasury, he informs me that he had received from
you a letter on the same subject. That upon reflection he could see no
good reason for departing from the rate to pay Rail Road Companies in
bonds: -- but if it would serve the interest of your company better, he
would have no objection to pay the earnings of your road half in bonds,
and the other half in interest bearing notes. |
If this proposition is accepted, a remittance will be
made so soon as you are heard from. |
