I am informed by the President of the
Confederate States that unnecessary delay occurs in discharging Rail
Road Cars of passengers, freight and baggage at Staunton, on arriving
there. Every detention of this kind is most injurious to the public
interest. You will take immediate measures to secure the greatest
promptness in relieving the Cars of their loads on their reaching your
station, in order that they may make the return trip with the utmost
dispatch. |
